Newly Named Petco Love Invests in Lifesaving Work of The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake

Grant of $25,000 will help save more pet lives in Henderson and Kaufman Counties

Tool, Texas (May 10, 2021) – The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake announced today a $25,000 grant investment from the newly named, Petco Love, to support their lifesaving work for animals in Henderson and Kaufman Counties.

Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they’ve empowered organizations with $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And, they’ve helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations, like ours, nationwide.

“Today Petco Love announces an investment in the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only one component. This month, we also launched the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us.”

“Petco Love’s generous grant will support medical care for our animals in need. We intake an average of 3,000 animals per year. In 2020, we adopted 1,350 animals and sent an additional 700 animals to rescue groups and transported animals through the ASPCA® Animal Relocation Program to help them find loving homes. Our medical costs continue to rise as we adopt and transfer out more animals every year, so we are incredibly grateful to Petco Love for supporting our shelter with this lifesaving investment,” said Sharon Banaszak Director of the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake.
